How to shop at Whitmuir

Our farm shop is open Tuesday to Thursday from 10am - 4pm and we are also doing home deliveries. The Cafe is temporarily closed due to COVID 19.

We are 16 miles from Edinburgh and, normally, there's lots to do when you get here - there's a antique and junk shop, a garden plant nursery, an art gallery and a beautiful farm to walk round with views of the Forth and Fife from the top of the hill.

Thankfully you can also shop online

And we willdeliver fresh, clean, organic food from our farm straight to your door.

  • Wednesday Delivery - Edinburgh South and Midlothian (order by 9am Monday)
  • Thursday Delivery - Edinburgh (order by 9am Tuesday)
  • Friday Delivery - Tweeddale, Galashiels, Moffat and Biggar (order by 9am Wednesday)
  • Saturday Delivery - Edinburgh (order by 9am Thursday)

How to pay for your shopping

Online you can pay by paypal, worldpay or Farm Supporter Account (see details below)

Opening a Farm Supporters Account

We started this business because we wanted to grow for people we know - so we love it when people set up a Farm Supporters Account.

Here’s some information to help you decide what works best for you.

Work out how often you want to shop

  • If you are just going to order food occasionally, it is best to pay by paypal or worldpay at the online check out.  There is no need to set up an account.
  • If you think you would like more regular or repeat orders (weekly, fortnightly, monthly) it is best to set up an account.

How do I pay for my food?

Work out how much you plan to spend in a month or week.  The minimum order is £20 with £4 delivery charge.  Orders over £50 have free delviery.

So, if you are going to spend £20 per week, your monthly standing order should be around £100 per month (£20 + £4 x 50 weeks divided by 12 months).

You have to set up the Standing Order - this is not like a direct debit.  We can't take money out of your account - you have to set up the payment.  Then email us to let us know value and name so we can match the payment to your account.

You make your Standing Order out to

Whitmuir Organics Ltd, Sort Code 82-61-37, Account No 30106391

How we manage your account

  • When your payment is received, we credit it to your account.
  • Online Farm Account Holders do not need to pay at the online check out
  • On the last day of the month we send you a detailed digital account statement
  • Any credit is rolled forward, any debts need to be paid by BACs or card.
  • You can close your account – debts must be paid and credits can be refunded.

We are trusting you to pay us.  You are trusting us to deliver you the best quality organic food.  We both are working for more sustainable food and farming in Scotland.

Can I set up a repeat order?

Yes – but only if you are an Account Holder.    Email shop@whitmuir.scot to tell us what you would like – you can either use your first online order as a template or just give us written details.  Tell us how often (ie weekly, fortnightly, monthly etc.

We hope that makes sense.  We look forward to welcoming you to Whitmuir.

Yours, Heather, Pete and Ewan (who live here with Lucy the dog) and the crew at Whitmuir.
