Sunday 7th April 10am to 3pm….come along to our first Makers Market.

“Haste ye back, you are always welcome here”

Located 16 miles south of Edinburgh in the beautiful Scottish Borders, and with a view of the Pentland Hills – Whitmuir cafe, takeaway and farm sits within just under 140 acres of working farmland and beautiful woodland.

We are a family friendly, welcoming and relaxed place that everyone loves to visit. There’s lots to do on site – delicious food served in our cafe and takeaway. Plus there’s a Woodland Walk for young and old to explore the many habitants – from fairies to frogs.

We welcome dogs on leads around the estate (as we are a working farm) and we have a heated outdoor seating area adjacent to the cafe, as well as a secure bike rack. Picnic tables surround our old farm tractor that children can play on and let their imagination run wild.

And if all of that isn’t enough, Quercus Garden Plants have everything you could need for your Scottish garden – and we don’t just mean the plants, their advice is second to none.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Whitmuir Cafe, Shop and Farm
Here are some guiding principles about Whitmuir:
Welcoming and flexible:
We want everyone to feel welcome, when they come to visit us. Our café menu is flexible, you can ask for a smaller (or larger!) portion, the childrens menu has been developed to ensure families can enjoy a relaxed visit. All you have to do is ask, and if we can do it, we will.
An integral part of the local community:
We want to be involved in our local community, whatever that may be. We want local clubs and societies to use our space and to bring people together.
Stocking and supporting Scottish:
We stock and serve local, where we can, in our café and shop. Any seasonal produce produced on the farm will be available in the shop. We also want to support local artists and creatives by stocking their work in our shop.
Committed to the environment:
We strive to minimise waste and operate sustainably – building on the existing eco friendly café building, which is insulated with sheep wool and powered by renewable energy.
